Accessibility

Everyone who can do the job should be able to prove it here. What we aim for, what works today, what we are still fixing, and how to get help.

01Our goal#

MedTality measures whether someone can do a healthcare job. A barrier in the website or the app would measure something else, so accessibility is part of making assessments fair, not an extra.

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA across the website, the web app and the mobile app. This is the standard we design and test against. We have not had MedTality audited against it yet, so we do not claim that every page conforms.

02What works today#

  • Keyboard. Every control can be reached and used with a keyboard, and the control in focus shows a visible ring.
  • Screen readers. Controls, fields and navigation carry labels. Scores, score rings and progress bars announce their values, such as the score out of 100 and the bar it was measured against.
  • Less motion. If your device asks for reduced motion, animations stop or are replaced by a simple fade, and moving backgrounds hold still.
  • Color. A verdict is always written out in words, never shown by color alone.
  • Zoom and text size. Pages reflow when you zoom in or enlarge text, and the mobile app follows your device's text size.
  • Spoken assessments. The examiner never ends an assessment because of nerves, silence, an accent, a language difficulty or a disability, and how you sound is never scored. You can read the transcript afterwards and correct words it misheard.
  • Printing. Policy pages print cleanly, without the site's navigation.

03Known limits#

  • Illustrations. The product scenes and animations on our marketing pages are decorative. Screen readers skip them, and the same information is given in the text beside them.
  • Spoken answers. The readiness assessment is spoken, and there is not yet a written way to take it. If you cannot take a spoken assessment, tell us before you start, and we will work out an adjustment with you.
  • Time limit. An assessment runs for up to 18 minutes. If you need more time, ask us before you start.
  • Documents from others. Files that employers or candidates upload, such as role documents and certificates, may not be accessible, and we cannot always control that.

If you run into a barrier anywhere else, please tell us so we can fix it.

04Adjustments for assessments#

If a disability or another reason makes an assessment hard for you, tell us through Support before you start. We will agree an adjustment with you, such as more time or another way to answer, and an adjusted assessment is measured against the same standard. We use what you tell us only to make the adjustment, and we do not tell employers about it.

05Tell us about a problem#

If something is hard to use, or you need it in another form, reach us through Support. Tell us the page or screen, what you were trying to do, and the device, browser and any assistive technology you use. We will reply with a fix or a way around it.

06Review#

We review this statement, and the accessibility of MedTality, at least once a year and whenever we make a major change to the product.

See who is ready on day one.

Post your next role and meet candidates through their evidence, not their resumes.
